First family vacation!!
Last week, we went to Destin for our very first family vacation! It was alot of fun, but ridiculously HOT! We took Eli on the beach and let him play in the sand, but I'm not quite sure if he really liked it. I think, once again, it was way too hot and bright. I think we will have better luck next year!!!

Good Times with Great People
This past weekend we went to Lake Charles. While we were there, we got to spend some time at my grandparent's house with a very special person. That person is my Uncle Louis. Want to know why he's so special? Well, let me tell you... He was the man that raised my grandfather. He's originally from New York, but through many transitions in his life, he ended up in good ole Basile, LA. He coached at Basile high school for quite some time. He left such a wonderful impact on the people he met. So much that on September 10, they are naming the football field after him, Hanson field.
He is 89 years young. He is so sprightly that he rode the train from his hometown in Texas all the way to Lake Charles to visit. He has the sweetest, most gentle spirit I have ever seen. He is a wonderful, Godly man and I am so blessed that we (me and Eli) got to hang out with him.
"Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever." Daniel 12:3

It's Been Too Long
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I feel like so much has happened since my last post. Eli is now 6 mos old. He is weighing 21 lbs and is 28 1/2 in long. Here are some of his latest tricks...
sitting up on his own
eating 2nd foods
putting his feet in his mouth (big accomplishment, due to his large size!)
moved from infant to convertible car seat
sitting in high chairs
laughing
making funny noises

The latest and greatest
Once again, I can't believe Eli is already 4 1/2 mos old. He went for his check up a few weeks ago and weighed in at (drumroll please)... 19 lbs 8 ozs and is 27 in long!! He is off the charts for both his height and weight. I know y'all are shocked.
Anyway, life just continues to get better and better. Here are some of the latest things Eli has been doing...cooing, laughing at funny noises I make, DROOLING, starting to sit up, smiling, sleeping a solid 8-9 hours a night, rolling over (belly to back), and for his latest...EATING BABY FOOD!! That's right, he has tried all of the orange veggies and loves them. However, I tried to give him green beans tonight and that didn't go over so well. I'm going to give it another try tomorrow. Keep your finger crossed that he won't turn out to be a picky eater. (I doubt he will!!) More pics of Eli to come so stay tuned!!!
