It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Since my mom has been in town for the past couple of days, I got the bright idea to start decorating my house for Christmas. I didn't think that I would get much accomplished since I have little Eli on my hands, but I did!! I had the tree completed in about an hour. Then the next day I tackled my mantle. I completed the mantle in about an 1 1/2 or so. It really helped too that Eli slept like a champ the entire time mom and I decorated. After the house was complete, I decided to do another photo shoot of Eli. Here are some pics of the decorations and Eli... Enjoy!!

Eli... Already 2 wks old!!!

Where does the time go? I can't believe my little man is already 2 weeks old. He has been a dream child thus far. He is eating every 2-3 hrs during the day and eating every 4 hours during the night. I'm getting about 5-6 hours of sleep a night... So I'm very happy about that!! He had a big day today. My mom and I brought him to the mall, Target, Rack Room Shoes and DSW. He behaved so well, we never heard a peep out of him until he got hungry. I love being a mom... I can't imagine my life without little Eli! Here are some more pics!

Eli's Here!!

Well, Eli finally made his grand entrance into the world on October 23, 2009 at 11:39 am. The induction/delivery went amazingly well. I was admitted at 12:30 am on Friday morning and they began the pitocin drip around 1:30. At 8 am, the Dr. came in and finished breaking my water. I was already at 3 cm. After the check, the contractions really started to pick up and I decided to get the epidural. Let's just say that epidurals are a true gift from God!! I didn't feel anything...kudos to my anesthesiologist! At around 10:30 am, the nurse came in again to check me and I had already dilated to 8 cm. Things were really starting to progress. Thanks to my epidural I didn't feel a thing. So, at around 10:30 am, the nurse came in once again to check me. Lo and behold, I was at 10 cm and the baby was starting to crown!! I was so excited and relieved that the big moment was finally here. I pushed for 35- 40 min and the little man was welcomed into the world. He weighed 9 lbs 3 oz!! Dr. Sherman was completely flaberghasted. She couldn't believe it, nor could I.

There is nothing that can compare to the feeling you get when you hold your baby for the first time. I thank God everyday for the gift He has given me. He truly is fearfully and wonderfully made. Once again, here are some pics from his birth. Stay tuned for more pics and blogs of baby Eli.

Baton Rouge Shower

So after we had the Lafayette shower, we headed back to BR. Once again, my mom and I stayed up late organizing more of Eli's goodies. It has been such a blessing to have my mom help me get everything in order. I don't know what I would do without her!

Well, we woke up Sunday morning ready for the BR shower and decided to go to Wal- Mart to pick up some last minute things. Little did we know, we were about to get drenched by a huge rain storm! Let's just say our hair looked permed by the time we got everything in the car. I thought the weather would put a damper on the shower, but it cleared up right before and everything was fine. When we got to the shower, I was a little overwhelmed. Everything was beautifully decorated, especially the awesome cake Meg made. It looked exactly like the shower invitation!! They even went as far as to make some of my favorite foods. I felt so blessed and priviledged to be able to call them my friends. I love you all so very much!!! Here are some pics of the awesome shower!!

Eli's Lafayette Shower

This past weekend we had our last two showers for Eli. The first one was in Lafayette on Sept. 12. We went to dinner with Jon's family Friday night and Mrs. Sharon (Jon's mom) got sick. It was such a bummer that she couldn't make it to the shower. However, she did get to go by and look at everything before all the guests arrived. Thanks to all who helped host the shower. It was absolutely beautiful!!!

All the wonderful hosts!! Thanks so much for all the hard work!!

The beautiful centerpiece (which is still looking pretty on my dining room table)

The food table (of course my favorite thing about the shower!!)

Eli's LC Baby Shower

So we had our second of four baby showers yesterday in Lake Charles. It was so wonderful to see all of my family and friends. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life to give me such a great shower. The cake was absolutely adorable and the food was amazing. I even asked them if I could stop opening gifts so I could get a bite to eat before it was all gone!!

My mom and I stayed up until midnight organizing and washing all of Eli's new clothes. Let's just say my car was completely on overload driving back to BR this afternoon! I don't know where I'm going to put everything, so send any ideas my way! So, 2 down 2 to go! Here are some pics from the shower... Enjoy!
